Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Looking for Group Ride in Cary, NC

I posted in the Ride Partner section as well............sorry for the duplication.

I'm heading to Cary, NC August 5th, and August 6th, and would like to get out of the "in-laws" home for a while! Does anyone know of a group ride in the area? I'm not very familiar with the area, and the local shops to call. I usually ride a 19-21 mph avg pace, around 35 miles would be ideal. Thank you for any help.

yo... i'm from raleigh. you can check out www.cyclingspokenhere.com and they have group rides every evening I know that. it's located off of Maynard Rd and High House, if you know where that is. I know they have a group rides. If that doesn't work for you I know of a couple more, but they get a decent sized group every evening. I have only gone once, because i haven't actually decided if i want to purchase my own road bike yet, but yeah... check it out.

Thanks. That Frosty 50 is perfect, it even keeps me away from the out-laws for a little over 3 hours!!! Its great that you are thinking of ME! I think it may be too long, and inconsiderate for me to leave for that long (I still have a sensitive side, helps with my relationship with my spouse). I did find some cue sheets that start off Kildaire Farm Rd. Worst case, I'll do a solo ride from the Spin Cycle shop parking lot late afternoon on Friday, and Early on Saturday morning.

Thanks for the help.........keep the recommendations coming. I'm in the area pretty often visiting.

Good thinking, but probably just a little far, but tempting..... Maybe when I'm in that area for business travel. Thanks again. If you think of any others in the Cary area, around the Cary Town Center area, please forward.

Thanks again.
