2022 Bar Tape Measuring Contest. (Mileage for the year)

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Since my last two rides averaged 175 nd 185 Kw/H that would give me zero. Looks we are total under-performers.

In practice, counting hours/week is a pretty useful metric, but I haven't seen people post their annual hours.

It's probably about as much use as annual miles.

Or as lacking.
Why not annual tracking of Kilojoules?

I did at least 3145 miles this year, but I ALSO had month off for a broken bone and also spent some very useful happy-hours sailing a few uncharted nautical miles.

I hope you're kidding; if not, you really need to learn about proper training.

Yep. Go ride on a highly technical MTB route, or even on a gnarly gravel route, and tell me how it compares (time and effort) to the same distance on smooth tarmac. And as others have noted, climbing is a key metric, too.

Your hope is correct. But in cases, constructive criticism is always preferred over negative.

December was on the hamster wheel in a heated basement...it was a good month but no cold kudos earned.
