Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Last day of isolation- it sure has been fun. I “get out” tomorrow but we are supposed to get more snow- and I’m not sure I’ll be “allowed” to ride in the garage without a mask until Sunday when I can officially be unmasked. I feel like a lazy **** having not rider in 5 days. Still have an annoying dry cough, but otherwise feel fine.

We got 8 ish inches of snow overnight Sunday- wife had to snowblow (she won’t let me walk through the downstairs). It was really wet and heavy and the trusty Ariens bogged down. Luckily our neighbor helped out.

I don’t like the feeling of uselessness.

One second she says ride in the afternoon, the next second she says ride when you to Am to school. Last night when I was getting my stuff ready for today, she was like you have to do the trainer.

I laughed and said no…….

If I am restricted to the trainer or only an hour of outside time then, yes, my 250 me weeks are over.

Don’t sound so excited.

She's a great lady. I get it, she doesn't want to get sick and she hasn't got her bivalent booster because of some crazy side effects she got from the first 3. She grew a lump from a swollen lymph node and thought she had breast cancer and felt generally bad for weeks.

Sounds like you’ll regress to the point that we could have a pleasant ride together.

It is. We've only had a couple of feet of snow, so far this season. We should be at about five and a half feet of snow by now.

At least we have some snow on the ground. There was enough yesterday that I got to use the snowblower, but not so much that the SportWagen couldn't clear it. So, less than five and a half inches.

Just because you don't have snow that matches your expectations doesn't mean it's not cold.

We got about 4.5-5” yesterday. Snow blowing at 7PM when it’s pitch black isn’t fun, but it’s better than shoveling. Got everything done in time for Jeopardy (and promptly got smoked by my wife).

Chilly rainy dark blah day. Awesome Pilates session with the jump board - first time they made me sweat. Wanted to just call in sick and nap on the couch for a dreary day.

Haven’t even gotten to the puzzles yet.

Imagine mid-level bicycles being sold for the same price as they were in 1960.

I would imagine that the mid-level bikes from the 60s are selling for about the same price as they did then. Assuming they are in good condition.

In 1960, a Schwinn Continental Sports was priced at $86.95. That's about what that bike would cost today.

Depending on the brand you choose, many vintage watches are the same price as they sold for originally, or less. Mind you, some are A LOT more.

Mikaela Shiffrin won her 83rd World Cup race, surpassing Lindsey Vonn's record for most wins by a woman, and is now 4 away from passing Ingemar Stenmark's all-time record of 86 wins. I really like watching her ski.
