It’s also doing something I have brought up before and I don’t understand.

So I know I mentioned in the past with The Lance, trek 5500, when I had the mavic krysiums on it, I had too tighten the skewers super tight in order for the wheels to not have play. I have since switch wheels to the old mavic opens with the shimano hubs and I am having the same problem. So then I thought maybe the superteam skewers suck. So just now I put a brand new never been used skewer on the rear wheel and tightened it to a “normal” tightness and sure enough rear wheel has play.

I tighten the skewer more to where it almost uncomfortable to close it, play is gone.

That doesn’t seem normal to me.

check the axel. Make sure they dont protrude past the dropouts

I don't know how strong your hands are, but closing the skewer is supposed to leave an imprint on your hand. Not like reading the logo, but at least a visible mark. BUT, you really should make sure your axles are shorter than the space in the dropouts.

I'm always afraid if I make a warranty claim on something expensive with a lifetime warranty that it might be cheaper for the company to kill me than fix it.

Easy to change the battery. No need to send it to Tag. I’ve changed the one in my F1 many times. Batteries are about $5, maybe less. Just be careful with the o-ring gasket.

BITD, servicing a watch every year or two was the price of having a reliable watch. Then along came first Timex, who were able to make a cheap, reliable, disposable watch. And then quartz. And now almost nobody remembers that. Oils dry up. Crap gets in it. Old gummy oil plus a bit of dirt, and you've got a wonderful abrasive!

OTOH, some of my best finds were watches that stopped running 50+ years ago and got tossed in a drawer, because $20 for service was more than $15 for a Timex. Sometimes, all they need is a service* to run for decades more.

*"Service" means taking the movement all the way apart, cleaning everything completely, inspecting the parts, reassembling, and regulating. A pro can do all but the regulating in about an hour and a half.

Someone upthread asked you to check to see if the axle nub is protruding past the outer edge of the dropout. Did you do that? If it is, the skewer is useless, in a tightening capacity anyway.

A $600+ service on something like my Speedy is worth it. A $600+ service on a $700 TAG F1 quartz is not. Mine has lasted at least 15 years on just battery changes. And replaced a few silicon straps.

Trek warranty was not transferable until recently, and then only 3 years with some restrictions and you must show proof of original purchase.

Before the change a BF member bought a beautiful used Madone which cracked and Trek said nope, sorry.
