Addiction 2023.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Speaking of invigorating, a bunch of people jumped into the pond in Wyoming today. Looks like the ice is a good 18" thick

Yeah, this looks to be one of them "cart before the horse" kinda situations.

Meh - the tires appear to hold air. How bad can it be?

Is that the only engine in the truck or is that the backup engine?

In other Chevy news, the brake booster in the Pontiac minivan started hissing so I'm getting ready to pull the booster out of the Chevy and put it in the Poncho but it looks like you have to disconnect all the plumbing for the ABS and pull the ABS valve assembly and possibly the pump in order to get the booster out. Which means bleeding the brakes again after all is said and done.

Looking at the way it sits - low in the back, high in the front - I'm thinking it's probably the only engine in the thing.

The only engine as far as I know because the engine compartment is empty.

23 riders on our ride today. Beautiful day here, too. Guy with the new Factor was there. He said he is very happy with it but it's a bit quicker handling than his old Orbea.
He said it's 15.1 pounds ready to ride. It's almost a candy apple red and has beautiful lines. Really a great looking bike.

When I was a ute, our neighbors had a pool. Their daughter, who was about the age of my older sisters (8 years > me) used to teach swimming there in the summers. But their pool was not heated, so I always felt cold in it. When we weren't actually doing something during the lessons, I'd be out of the water huddled under a towel, trying to warm up. I was a real skinny kid, not much insulation.

My gym shut the pool down today and tomorrow because of the deep freeze yesterday and today. I hope they’re heating that up for Monday morning. No thank you on ice cold swims, or swims below 68-72 for that matter.

Having a nice lazy Sunday. took this old bike for a spin. After that had an afternoon nap. It's now raining so I don't have to mow the lawns . Now doing some more relaxing with a nice tasty porter.

In winter you just have to HTFU.

It was chilly for my jog/walk in shorts this evening, but I sucked it up anyway.
