Addiction 2023.1

Notices
Road Cycling ďIt is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.Ē -- Ernest Hemingway

Inspired by abshipp 's dam excursion, I rode out to the Beardsley Canal aqueduct over the mighty Agua Fria. Hoping to ride out to the China Dam this week.

How can you tell there's no water in it from that pic?

Anyways it is drained at the moment, possibly because of a project going on nearby.

There was water in it when Google last photographed it. It's also possible they don't run any water down it 'til farmers need it again.

A-ha, that's the wrong viaduct. That viaduct is always dry now, they're putting water from the CAP down the Beardsley downstream of the one I rode today. Water from Lake Pleasant used to go over the Agua Fria there.
