Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Oh I get it.

A brake job on a 911 is “relatively” cheaper than on my mini van.

Still dumb.

Which is “custom” and “bespoke” are so overused these days, and have been for a long time.

Well...

Several years ago I heard a brake job on a Maclaren Mercedes was $40K. Probably a bit more than that now.

But I'm pretty sure the Subaru would roll right over the competition in a crit. Especially Cat. 3-4.

One TINY problem with that - she doesn't cook, and she doesn't like jewelry, and the whole damn house is her craft cave. I only manage to keep my hold on the garage with constant vigilance.

Had a nice ride with a slice again today. I think it's 4 Tuesdays in a row. Friends came who have been married for many years and I've never seen them have conflict before but today there was a bit. She wants a new S-Works something and he said it was too much so she found one at Pro's Closet and he's against that, too. My other friend told them the used one was too much and they should just get the new one. I stayed out of it.

Doubt that now, but a full rotor and pads brake job on my 2015 Cayman GTS was about $25k. Rotors alone were $12k on front and $10k on back. Fortunately good for 100,000 miles.

The guys should just buy her the bike. It’d be like a whole year of flowers and chocolate. Score!
