Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That number is dad (X) + mom (Y) and is prorated based on income. Except, even in a split custody the parent who has the kids less (or in 50/50 makes more money) is required to pay Z- not X or Y. It’s actually worse for the kids as I mentioned earlier- money that could be going to their college fund is instead going to their mom.
I've been there, my friend, I've been there. I remember the morning I opened up the court's award letter (I didn't open it the night before because I just knew I wouldn't be able to get any sleep). When I read the financial damages just before going to work I was so enraged that I drove the 75 miles to work going at or near 100 mph. That car had never done more than 80 or 85 before, and anyone who knows me knows I'm always a calm, gentle soul. But not that morning. It was an atypical, scary, uncontrollable rage.

Just be careful with your rage is my best advice. File a complaint for every violation and make sure you're not guilty of anything yourself. And know that one day this dark period of madness will subside, the sun will come out again, and you will heal.

I tell her I’d like to discuss before she gives it, she tells me she was just letting me know as a courtesy and that if I want to contact my kid on it, I can pay for half.

I ask her yesterday when she can talk on Saturday- she says any time. I assume that means she is going to hold off on the phone. I assumed wrong.

I’m not even against the phone, what I am against is the continuous ignoring of our agreement when it suits her needs because she feels I can’t take any action (or won’t). What I think is the best course of action would be to get a separate mobile account that is not attached to either my family plan or my ex’s where we both have full access. This way we can both monitor communications and calls and activity.

Now I’m paying $200 bucks for my attorney to send her a threatening letter. I’ve tried to get her to compromise and be a good co-parent and her behavior just isn’t changing. At this point, I’m willing to spend tens of thousands on attorney fees if I have to if the end result is she gets ****ed over. I’m over this nonsense.

The ******** part is that she can selectively ignore parts of the settlement, but if I’m a day late on support, it’s the end of the world.

Part of me wants to know hold back support until she complies, but since I’m a dad and not a mom and the courts are inherently biased against me, I’ll get screwed.
When I was getting my divorce I was in a similar mindset. She had already taken my dog and my car, so I was really, really, pissed. My lawyer said I could pay X and be done with it or 5X and drag it out through the courts. I chose X, of course and haven’t talked to her since.

When I got divorced a very long time, I didn't have much of anything so I just told the cheatin beech to take anything she wanted as long as she thought it was a fair divide of our household stuff. No money changed hands, and no kids, so it was easy in that respect. She signed the agreement, and I took it to the court to get my friend the judge to sign the decree. Whole process to 60 days which was the statutory waiting period.

I got a call later asking why I didn't tell her that I was going to court without her. My response was F. Y. Click. Haven't spoken to her since.

She did stalk my new, younger, and more blonde wife and I for a while. F'd up chick. Worst decision of my life marrying her, but it did ultimately lead to the best decision of my life which was marrying my current love.

I never met the current Mrs John's psycho mother, she passed shortly after we met and her father was long gone. My father was also long gone but she did meet my psycho mother.

So the car is not a lunched transmission at least...

Rodents chewed the wiring harness, probably during the cold snap. AG is now worried about hers, and I need to get an ultrasonic repeller.

Want a cat.

Same here. I was doing pretty well, especially compared to her when we met and over the course of our relationship. In the end it was a money grab for her and I’m glad it’s over.

The best to thing to come out of it was a new me and meeting my current wife and have a pretty cool thing we spawned. Life is definitely better now than I could have ever imagined when going through the divorce.

First, about 28. Second, about 36.

Did I mention that I was really stupid in my 20s when it came to relationships with females? Learned a lot and was much less stupid in my 30s.

It's a common problem for some areas out here. I've heard of people putting rat poison under the hood but I wouldn't do that. The best thing is to park in a well sealed garage. I lived in a house with lots of fruit trees and rats were camping on my engines, ( had 5 cars at one point ). A friend gave me a cat who was hanging around his house and that cat started eliminating rats as soon as he got there. He would bring them into the house and drop them for my approval.

Some newer cars use insulation made with soy and this has made the problem worse but it has been a problem for many years.

A young guy once asked me for relationship advice. I told him not to ask me because I have screwed up every relationship I've ever been in.

Hard to figure what rodents are going to do. I worked at a dealer in 95-98 and one year they started chewing the wiring to the knock sensors on 6 cylinder Camaros which were on the new car lot. Someone would start one up and the engine light would be on and I knew what it was because I had about 10 of them already.

I think the rat was hopping up onto the starter, then chewing the knock sensor wire which is right next to the starter. My friend said the sensor wire had a special flavor. I didn't ask how he knew that.

Same except no kids with current wife. I’m fixed.

We got married when I was 37 and she was 40. I don’t think anyone should get married until they’re 30 at least
