Addiction 2023.1

Notices
Road Cycling ďIt is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.Ē -- Ernest Hemingway

Married the first time at 26yo after being together for 7 years. The marriage lasted 6 more years, and our daughter was less than 2yo when we split. That part of my life ended like a county songÖMy ex-wife is with my ex-friend, living in my ex-house with my ex-dog. I got a pickup truck and a guitar. We maintained a respectful relationship, shared custody of our daughter, and support payments were very reasonable. EDIT: Currently, we are celebrating being grandparents.

Before my divorce was final (slow process), I met a woman at a Halloween party, and we spent much of the night debating marriage. She was sure she would never get married. In May of this year, we will celebrate our 20th anniversary. Our kid is 18yo, and itís been a ton of fun being dad on their journey.

Two-hour movies are made out of this kind of situation. You said ten words.

Iím pretty lucky. Been with my wife 16 years been married for 8. 5 years ago, I was at my lowest point in life. Not taking care of myself, always angry, not really contributing to the relationship at all. She stuck with me, made me a better person. Canít really complain. We said from day one we donít believe in divorce, but man I donít know how she stayed.

As is often the case. I liked 4 as well. The later ones are... well popcorn movies.

The biggest sin was thinking Paul Walker was the anchor.

They should have brought back the guy from Tokyo Drift, and how great would it be, if the mad scientist wasnít actually dead.

AG says that too. I always worry because my parents and many of my relatives and friends' parents divorced. And always because the woman decided she was done. It really leaves scars.

My firstís parents had a history of divorcing, as did she before my stint as number four (I was led to believe I was number two).

My now bride was not married before me. Her parents were married for more than 50 years before her dad died (no prior marriages). My parents celebrated their 66th anniversary in November (no priors either). I think the values handed down influence the attitude about marriage.
