Addiction 2023.1

Notices
Road Cycling ďIt is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.Ē -- Ernest Hemingway

Gorgeous bike but I couldn't take a $9k art object out in the dirt. Maybe if I won the Powerball or something.

I got a win-wing. It attaches to the seat stays. Seems like itís going to work well

This mornings ride sucked. Took the madone out. Plan was to do zone 2 and 4 sprints. Iím not sure what was going on but it took way too much power to go anywhere. At one point I was putting out 300 watts to go 17 mph on flat ground. Areas that I am usually doing 21-23 at 165 watts I was doing 16 mph at 195 watts.

Wind wasnít an issue and I wasnít wearing anything baggy. I donít get it.

It got cold again, but it’s sunny and dry. Today’s adventure is a destination ride: The Reading Pagoda.

I've had days like that, but never with a power meter to comfirm I really was working harder. What about your heart rate? Did that, and the RPE match with the rest of it? That is working real hard to go slower?

Yea my HR was elevated too. It was weird. I donít know if something was wrong with the madone. I took the ritchey out for team practice. That went okay but I could tell the earlier ride zapped my energy. I did one lap and packed it in.

My HRV and my training load for the week was fine.

Iíll have to check the madone maybe the wheel needs service? I donít know. Even on descents where I usually hit 30+ mph I only hit like 26 mph.
