Addiction 2023.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

1 I don't have a motorcycle
2 That might leave a mark that won't buff out
3 I'm fragile

We have 15 libraries in Cobb County. There are 2 I can think within 3 miles of my house. That's seems like a lot of libraries for a county with ~800,000 residents.

Does it hurt or bother you? The thing I had hurt all the time, especially when I flexed my wrist back.

Never heard the one about burying a potato.

You prolly didn't grow up in Pennsyltuckey like me and Velo Vol

It doesn't hurt or really bother me other than the fact it exists. I just noticed it last night, it's about the size of regular M & M.

Please don’t. They still hurt… a lot but oddly, they hardly hurt at all on the bike. Historically, I’ve found this to be the case with damaged ribs. It hurts more driving the car than it does to ride.

Anyone else here follow the stop sign pole in Auburn, ME? Welp for those who don't, they put the cutest little jersey barriers around it (which at least one vehicle has since run into), but NOW, this other pole is getting driven into...

We have an infamous bridge over by Liverpool, just west of Syracuse. It has a Facebook page, and its own website with merch. Onondaga Lake Parkway (olpbridge.com)

We have more with a smaller population (MOTD).

While at the website I am renewing my checkedout book.

Same- this has been a nuts weekend- one kid had 4 showings of the middle school musical that she needed to be carted to and from, other had 2 softball practices.

Was going to get another ride in this morning, but ex wife drama made that not happen.

On the bright side- threatening court worked with the cell phone nonsense and cooler heads prevailed.

I might get a ride in after the last showing of this play- we will see

The ducks of Eugene, OR. This is the view from my hotel balcony. They like pretzels.

This is my 3rd trip to Eugene where I have rented a car at the airport. I always reserve a mid-size sedan. So far, so have gotten a mid-size sedan zero times. It’s to the point of being comedy. This trip’s round of “rental roulette” landed on…
