Addiction 2023.1

Notices
Road Cycling It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. -- Ernest Hemingway

Maybe some fun facts about Mahomes' dad will cheer you up:

Mahomes began his professional career with the Elizabethton Twins in 1988 as a starting pitcher. Over the next few years, he worked his way up through the Twins farm system, reaching Triple-A in 1991 with the Portland Beavers.
Dangit, I saw my first Beavers game in '92. Just missed him!

Wow the Iggles fans must be thrilled. Sooooo much talk.

Also betting on Mahomes down by double digits at halftime continues to be the best bet in sports. No I didn't though.

Coldest morning of the winter. 54* at dawn. I had to get up and make coffee for the travelers. They're arriving at CMH at midnight, and then have to drive home to Athens and then go to work tomorrow.

But did you torque them to 20 Fig Newton meters first?

I still cant believe that the experts counted him out in pre-game. All five FOX analyst picked Philadelphia. I mean, I bet you Cincinnati and Buffalo and anybody else who has to play them regularly didnt count him out.

I haven't seen the game of course yet, but... yeah we saw him two weeks ago "hobbled" and still working magic. Two weeks later he should be better. AG reported she thought he was done close to halftime but apparently not.

It's also instrumental to remember when Rodgers was hobbled a few years ago with a damaged knee. It's easy to forget now in the era of even-more-mobile QBs, but he was highly mobile and even ran some earlier in his career. But with that bad knee, forced to stay in the pocket, he was very able to pick apart the defenses he played. Obviously he'd rather also have his mobility, but it's not like he's Manziel unable to execute an offense and using his athleticism to make up for it.

Broke a years-long streak on Super Bowls yesterday. I actually saw a few moments of it, trying to determine whether it was a good time to order a pizza. It was late in the 4th quarter, so, yes.

Willis Reed would have been proud. He recovers amazingly well, is all I can say. Either that or they have some powerful new drugs to shoot up that leg with.
