Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Maybe you can post on one of those instead of the reposting of tweets that have no discussion merit, leaf raking, and your gripes about the medical system. What have you explored lately?

If you do it right driving, cycling, walking, kayaking, etc is more than just a mode of transportation.

I have mixed feelings about this post.

I got the apple crumble a la mode, after lunch, because of this post.

Should have known the race was going to suck when my power meter decided to not work at the start of the race. Calibration was good, and then nothing. 2.5 laps on the least sketchy part of raod this college kid goes down. I held my line and ran his bike over. Tried to stay with the group but my bike started vibrating, front wheel is bent, broken spoke and my fork has a gouge in the side of it.

Dude by lap 2 you know about where you fit in the field, if you are not in the top 5 stop trying to push your way up there. Especially after time and time again you can’t hold on a fall to the back. PISSED.
Sounds like a bike race. Shame about the Emonda.

It's all perspective. The first was available in 1988, so older than some people here. It's unlikely that old, but could still be as old as some of my coworkers.

Well, 2020 was not a good year for anybody.

I finished off a slew of dark chocolate covered almonds after lunch, but not because of that post, I was planning on assaulting them anyway.

I had some ice cream. Boulder has additional options over Austin, funnily enough. Including Safeway, clearly the worst of the grocery stores, having more gluten free B&J than anywhere else I've seen. The Jeni's options are fewer though.

I could have done without it.

It was definitely unique, though.

I miss the Zoom sessions we used to have with family and friends. We could still have these sessions now, but it's harder to get a group together of folks all at home and bored.

It was a crit, right? You're going to fall down a lot in crits and tear up a lot of stuff. It's the nature of the beast.

Edit: I see it was a road race but my post still applies. Crashes happen, just a little less often in RR but they still happen. Count on it.

Doesn't look too bad. Be sure to check for broken carbon.
