Addiction 2023.1

Notices
Road Cycling ďIt is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.Ē -- Ernest Hemingway

If not, I will have to follow MoAlpha advice and try plumberís tape in the BB threads.

Fingers crossed this solved the problem.
You might be surprised how easy it is to find a lefthand crank from the newer Shimano groups. I'm guessing mostly it's people buying Stages or 4iiii NDS crank power meters and selling off the old one.

Another of Rango's quirks is what we call "This food is inedible and the portions are too small!" He'll push at his food with his nose, and then dig at the feeding platform, and even bite at the platform. He'll walk away from the food, and stare at you demanding something better, or at least something else. He'll sometimes do that a couple times.

Then he'll wolf it down and demand more, which he'll treat the same way, until he wolfs THAT down.

Things are so weird these days it's hard to say how low it will go. I placed a limit order for 50 shares at $7.50. Was gonna do another batch of 50 at $6.50 but I reckon I can just keep an eye on it Tuesday since I've got the morning off.

First time that happened on my mountain bike I thought something was broken. I put it back on and had to push the pawls down one by one or it wouldn't go on.

If yours is quieter it might have something to do with the pawls, maybe the grease got moved around?

Wife and I went to a show tonight. Never really listened to the Mountain Goats before but it was thoroughly entertaining.

Iíve been neglecting my road bike for a while but spent 2.5 hours on it today. What a fun machine.

I was quite surprised at how good I felt. Even though my daily commutes are short, perhaps they are helping me maintain some fitness.

Speaking of that, can a shop straighten a spoke? or do they replace that? I have spare spokes, but I am a little worried that the shop wonít be able to straighten the wheel. The only consistent complaint with these wheels is that they are hard to true, and in some cases shops refused to work on them.

If I can get these straighten and I donít need a new fork, then I will get a new set at some point in the future, and only use these old ones for racing.
What are they- I need to replace rotors on one set of wheels

I’ve had similar noises fixed the same way. I don’t remember ever having these noises with skewers.

Another time, I gave up trying to fix the “BB” creak and took it to the LBS and they called me before I even got a couple miles down the road. It was the derailleur hanger which is also where the thru axle threads through. They said it was loose so they took it off loctited the treads and greased the mating surfaces. They said it was common with thru axle bikes. I’ve since had to do the same on another bike.

Thanks for the offer, but as above I have an old 6700 crankarm that I already installed on the NDS.

Never had it with a QR, but I’ve had it before on this bike. In the past I heard it as coming from the rear triangle, but the more recent creaking problem with the previous BB biased it right out of my mind until a rare moment of clarity.

Anyone else use Hotmail/Outlook for their personal email? The spam filter has generally been pretty good, but this morning my inbox is FULL of Spam and the "spam" inbox is empty.

This has happened to me with both Yahoo and Comcast. Itís like the spam filter is nonexistent. I moved to Gmail several years ago so I donít deal with Yahoo and a Comcast much anymore, so itís not a big deal. Logging in once every couple/few months and seeing a wall of spam is annoying though.

It's frustrating because the spam filter on this account had been pretty good. I cannot for the life of me find a way to see if somehow it got "reset."

I have no idea what that advertising is. Maybe Ken and/or Ryu hooked up with Chun-Li and they came up with a new video game?
