Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Back home. Not a smooth landing, but home sweet home with AG.

Cold in here. I know these temps are nothing for some of you but this house was not made for it. Not as bad as some of the houses I've lived in where the wind blows through, but a little drafty and no insulation. Or whatever there is doesn't help much.

I got a schedule change email from United. The old schedule for the first leg and the new schedule for the second leg. What do I do with that? So I went to the website. My confirmation number was too long for the box provided. The bot couldn't find the confirmation number at all. The chat person was doing six chats concurrently. Final result? The new schedule is exactly the same as the old one. The new cards might be over the top for them.

I just learned that today is the coldest day in Pasadena since 1974. It’s the first time in 49 years that the daytime high temperature did not reach 50 deg F.

Might have switched the airframe. I know on my side of the fence, when airplane types are swapped it causes the system to have a seizure. I almost couldn’t get to work because of it. System said the flight didn’t exist once I tried to put myself on it even though it was set to depart and so on. I called the reservation. number and they couldn’t put me on it either.

Well that is bad. United doesn't run the airport though. Though they're who we usually fly with these days, and haven't been anything like that for us. Wonder if the service in Mexico is worse.

You’ve mentioned 40* weather before though, right? Are you talking about a high of 40*?

If it’s a united flight the service should be the same. That wouldn’t be good for buisness for them to short change the countries they fly too. China would have kicked them out a long time ago.

If it’s a code share flight from Mexico that ls different.

I still have my money on an airframe swap.

no, before that was 40 degrees European, Now he is talking 40 degrees American.

On his glorious rides, he climbs a bit of elevation, I imagine the temperature drops on those.
