Addiction 2023.1

Notices
Road Cycling ďIt is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.Ē -- Ernest Hemingway

Feels so nice to ride without any thermal contrivances.

First ride with the Varia. Favorite feature is definitely itís ability to show how many vehicles are approaching. I definitely need to get a hard mount, on our rough roads it would shift position a little bit. Doubt it affects performance but I canít stand things moving around like that.

Ride with it for a month, then try one ride without it. Itís a creepy feeling.

I got passed by two riders today, one of them on a Canyon Aeroad, the same color as mine. Nice looking bike. It's on my Lottery List, which, since I don't play the lottery, means it's on my "I'll Never Own One" list.

Today's ride conclusively proved that my new "Showerproof" jacket, as well as my AmFib tights, gloves, and booties won't keep me dry, but they will - mostly - keep me warm. 46 degrees and rainy on and off. but I wasn't cold, though my hands a feet strted to get a little chilly.

All these factors have made music less complex and I say that makes it less interesting and therefore not as good.

They didn't go into the lack of real instruments played by humans.

I used the Spotify app to listen to the podcast.

Just because '20s music is bad doesn't mean '70s music was good.

Kudos for figuring out how to listen to it, though. #QuasiBoomer

Looks dope, I would need a 58.

I have The Ritchey Breakaway, current predicament is 2 fold. 1. I commute. Which means I have to check it every time I go to and come home from work. Thatís a lot of wear and tear.
2. My current airplane has no room for me to put it anywhere, so I would have to most likely check it on every flight that I work. Worst case scenario. 22 flights a trip.

I love my ritchey too much to put it in that abuse.

I am in Austin and Phoenix enough, I would be willing to buy a bike there and leave it.

Phoenix I can leave it with lester, Austin Iím not really sure. Maybe I can leave it at Mellow Johnies? Unfortunately, I am in Austin a lot, but not in that bike shop enough where anyone would remember me.

I think itís more nerve racking when someone shows up in short bibs, SS jersey, arm warmers, finger less gloves, and no show covers. Itís 36 degrees outside, and they are acting like itís 60. Not even phased. Those are the people that keep me up at night.
