Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeah, it's probably tough to seal a garage but in some cases I think it can be done. My ex worked in pest control for a while. She learned about exclusion being an important part of rodent control. We bought our house in the mountains which had a storage room under the house where the rats lived. She showed me how they use mesh screens and even steel wool with caulking to stop the rat bastiges from getting in.

Suffering due to exertion I can deal with. Suffering due to being wet and cold is different. 20 years ago, when I was young, fast, and strong, I felt differently than I do now.

It's 44 degrees and breezy out there but I'm seeing bits of sun after it rained most of the night. Think I'll get dressed and go for a cruise. Both bikes are already muddy, so just have to decide which one.

We have the same experience. They will move food tremendous distances and must have amazing 3-D maps in their tiny hippocampi. They are fantastically bold, curious, and athletic and I'd love the little ****ers if they weren't so destructive and filthy.

We had to remove our bird feeders because a rat discovered the piles of seed hulls on the ground. That's in a whole different league.

I spent a short time as an Akadema "rep", and sold a few to young softball players. I did it primarily to get a big discount on a gloves for myself and my kid. Yours looks like one of their mid-level models. It will serve you well, but if it's getting heavy use, it won't hold up as well as a A2000/A2K or HOH over the long term. Akadema's top-end stuff made from kip leather is really nice.

My daughter's Adakdema catchers mitt lasted a year of full-time travel ball. After that, she had a Mizuno that lasted another year. When she was 12, I bought her the top-end mitt from a small company called Vinci. I've never had a glove or mitt that was so difficult to break in. It took months. Once broken-in, however, it was spectacular, and my daughter was still using it 6 years later, in her final travel ball tournament. In CA, travel ball is year-round. Between games, practices, and instructional sessions, that mitt got a TON of use. It's some of the best money I ever spent on softball gear.

That's why I got it. Ubiquitous ball glove, available at my local sporting goods store for lefties. I haven't used it in a long time. It's pretty dry, but a little TLC would make it useable again.

Local foxes and a nearby barn cat hunt on our property. That helps too.

Cray cray.
I was told that is because that is the Medicare rate and that's why they start there and adjust downward. I bet phrantic knows.

Peer to peer did not go so well. I have to jump through another hoop. They want me to get a bone density scan. March 8th surgery canceled and will reschedule later. Probably mid April to allow enough time for more BS. Why wasn't a bone density scan mentioned by the insurance company before? I'm skeptical.

Product review:

Spotify free streaming service. Initial thoughts are negative. The user experience suffers from too many commercials and interruptions. I doubt I'll continue much longer. If they think I'll just decide to buy the premium subscription they aren't going about it the right way. It's too much of a turn off for me to crave the music enough to go premium. Unless it's a dollar/month. They certainly aren't paying the artists much.

Yesterday's baseball game was just a hair over 2 hours long, I'm glad the ticket prices are cheaper than last year, gotta get my bang per buck! Only one ball called for a slow pitcher yesterday.

3rd base ump got all fired up and stopped the game at one point though! Kind of a silly reason. Brewers SS was playing just in the grass of right field. Ump yelled out "Don't throw that pitch! He's standing in the grass!"

I hadn't heard about that new rule, everyone has been talking about the clocks but not many about the new infielder rules.

The new rule: At the time a pitch is thrown, all four infielders are required to be on the infield dirt (or infield grass) with two on each side of second base. Players will be able to move as soon as the ball leaves the pitcher's hand.

Birds gotta eat. Kestrels are pretty fierce, considering they're not much bigger than songbirds.
