Addiction 2023.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My sister shares his b-day. She's a little younger, though (61 this year).

One good thing about cleaning the garage enough to get the van in it is that the chore allowed time for introspection during which I decided to do the right thing and go get fresh hardware for the trailer hitch...

Palindrome. But this doesn't count because you removed digits.

I managed to get 34 miles. Much nicer than yesterday, no need for a jacket. I avoided the worst of the wind by exploring the foothill back roads of Los Altos/Cupertino/Saratoga. The road up to Fremont Older Preserve has a 23% section. That was a surprise.

Well what do you know, I got a 3rd place on one of those little bumps. It must have been the tailwind.

I wonder how it would work with an ad blocker. I have triple strength ad blocking, with adblock, Brave browser and another extension. I get zero ads anywhere, anywhen.. I get the occasional spam email though. and today I discovered an app on my chromebook that I didn't download. That's a first

It works for webpages and a lot of apps, but not streaming services, at least in my experience.

Despite what the livery may suggest, I doubt this bike is one I'd choose for climbing rides.

(I like how the tape measure is sitting right there yet the frame size is not mentioned in the ad )

No, I have not.

On the plus side, some grass has started grow here. It doesn't know that it's still winter.

Not really, I use a syringe top and bottom. The trick is to go slow, let things settle. Pump it back and forth a few times. Slowly. Once there's no more bubbles, close it up.
