Addiction 2023.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

No idea on the BB shell. I believe it’s press fit, I don’t think the ALR got the T-47 this year.

Im thinking if it’s not the BB it’s the cassette. Maybe pull it off and put some grease around the freehub body. Chain is lubed always, it doesn’t sound like pedal creak, headset has been checked.

I have a small key ring that I carry all the time. House key and a couple other keys that I don't want to misplace(not the only copy in case I lose the ring). It's small enough that it adds no weight to a jersey pocket. I carry the car's fob separately, in part because I've accidentally started the car remotely while sitting on the couch (!) so I generally drop it in a basket near my desk when I get home.

Thoughts???
Could also be pedals/cleats or headset.

I’d add rear derailleur hanger/thru-axle or at least that’s what it was on my Émonda and my Colnago.

When you pedal, you usually provide some counter-balance or whatever it's called by pulling on the opposite bar. Especially when standing, at lower cadence, where you're normally less smooth.

Or heck, could also be the TAs. That got someone here recently.

Oh, yeah, forgot to add to make sure your headset is adjusted perfectly. My Émonda was in the shop earlier this week for something miner and the mechanic asked if I was getting a click at high cadence when surging/sprinting. Uh…yes. He said my headset was looser than it should be.

A friend who is an audiophile has a collection of the newer "180 gram" vinyl record albums. He played some of them for me on his mega-buck system and they sound great but I don't know if I could hear the difference between them and a CD or digital media. People say the vinyl has a more natural sound.

I have several hundred albums and an equal number of CDs. The only thing I buy these days are the 180/200 gram albums, colored vinyl, pictograms, and other collectibles.

It can be hard to tell the differences frequently unless you do a lot of listening.

The last car key I had on my key ring was for the Jeep. That's also the last car key I've had that is just a key. The newer stuff are all little electronic boxes that are too bulky for key rings.

Possibly. Does it creak in the absence of pressure on the bars.

Could also be stem clamp, or something else to do with the bar, in that case.

It might be interesting to compare the same recordings from various media on the same system just to know if I could hear the difference. My hearing is pretty bad but I do enjoy blasting some tunes on my cheesy headphones.
I fixed all the speakers in my (stock) car system but blew a couple of them out pretty quickly.

I do remember how bad the sound is on store bought cassette tapes. I have some which were made for me on a good tape machine and there is no comparison.

Lots of possibilities. Would check chainring bolts and crank arm pincher bolts are greased and torqued to spec.

Flushed the other bike. 3 of my 4 baby bike bolts had been installed by the respective builders without their baby O-rings. All required vice grips to remove.

This has been a 40-year debate, and like a lot of things it comes down to whether the individual listener can hear the difference. And it's really not possible to say definitively whether any individual does or not.
