Addiction 2023.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Found your next bike. Local seller. Drive down and pick it up. You can bunk in the guest room so you don’t have to drive straight down and back.

Oh mama, that fade is hot.

I love tan walls, but not on this bike though.

Son in law was stationed at Lemoore Naval Air Station for 4 years. Very near Fresno. Huge cattle feed lot to the North. Huge Goat Dairy to the South.

The stench was hard to describe. Goats and cattle. I believe that if the wind is out of the West the aroma goes to Fresno.

Fresno is a fairly gritty city. Lots of agriculture stuff near by. Hot and humid in the summer. Best thing about Fresno is that it is close to Yosemite.

I like cherry red a lot but that doesn’t do it for me. I’m holding out on what the new emonda will look like. I imagine they will update it soon.

Beautiful riding but forget a coffe stop. Where I live, there’s a convenience store every 7-11 miles and fancy coffee shops in 2/3 the towns that I ride through. Alas, scenery sucks, though.

Fake miles done. Now waiting patiently at motor vehicles to renew my license. I asked to do the RealID so it may be a longer wait.

There are roughly 40-50 people here and I am the only masked individual.

There are folks here who, I imagine, will never unmask. It's become an article of clothing. I see them out walking, or riding a bike or moto, miles from nowhere, masked. Many in useless cloth masks. Fear, Fear and Loathing. Many of these same folks use their phones as an article of clothing while operating their motorcycles. And I have to believe while operating their cars too, though I can't see it from the vantage point of my bike. Driving, in and of itself, is just too damned boring.

I could've sworn my cousin from Riverdale used to say Steve Perry was born in Lemoore, but actually...

Perry was born in Hanford and lived there for many years, before moving to Lemoore in his teens. After graduating high school, he attended College of the Sequoias in Visalia.

Slow morning. And it's only Friday, I believe. I could be wrong. It feels like a Saturday. @datlas is off work and doing fake miles, but he's also visiting the BMV, so it's not a holiday thing. Hmmm.
