It's wonderful to see the Cinderellas chop down the Goliaths. Who would have thunk it . . . no 1-seeds in the Final Four. Made for good basketball games, too.

Not really, at least your heat is dry. Superior . . . up to a point.

Yes, it is possible. I just lost the last aunt I know of about 4 years ago.

NYC bagels rule. Period. All others are competing for 2nd place.

I like the original version better, even though it is a typical vinyl-quality recording.

At my eye exam Saturday I found out I have a cataract developing in one eye. That's the problem with blue eyes, the positive of having women chasing you because of their attractiveness is offset by the susceptibility to cataracts.

“Wait Until Dark” just ended on TCM. A different side of Alan Arkin.

Truth. Fuggedaboudit.
You’re telling your age now, both were 60s staples.
I was never a big fan of knishes, I’d rather go find me a Nedicks guy. Egg creams at the lunch counter were awesome, I could not believe when they disappeared, due mainly to that raw egg scare.

There's no egg in egg creams. Just milk, seltzer water, and chocolate syrup.

Occasionally alone. Most of the time with the local tramping club I'm in, so usually a small group. Last weekend's tramp was just with one other person though. Sometimes I go with non-club friends. It's good having some company. I tend to be a lot more cautious on my track choice if I'm by myself. Also it gets hard when you are by yourself towards the end of a long day.

I remember visiting New York with my crazy ex-boss. We'd been manhandling a couple big, heavy cases uptown because he let himself get trapped in a conversation with some guy, and then it rained and the taxis all dissolved. After an hour of walking a block and then swapping sides to destroy both shoulders equally, we stopped at a diner, and he ordered an egg cream. He grew up in NYC and Connecticut, so for him it was comfort food from his childhood. He closed his eyes and drank it reverently.

We had a Nedicks (pronounced"Needix") a block away from where I grew up, which I never liked. I can still remember how insipid that orange drink was from 60 years ago. The hotdogs I could take or leave, but I did like the caps the servers wore. I also remember when every drug store had a lunch counter and every candy/news shop had a soda fountain. Both of those types of establishment had a typical smell, which I still remember vividly. Part of getting old, I find, is having ancient and vivid memories out of nowhere.
