Addiction 2023.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Apparently it's not "quality" as such, but a specific mineral content.

hmmm interesting. it feels completely smooth. no vibrations or sounds other than the whoosh of moving air.

it spins quite a while, but when it stops it doesn't do much back and forth. just once or two small arcs, tubeless sealant sloshing a bit?

Almost met my maker this morning. 1.5 miles into my ride, I am going past a wawa. The only car in the parking lot of course is making for the exit that I will be going past. She stops at the exit, and holds. This gives me the impression she sees me. I have taken the lane and I am hauling ass. She starts to slow roll through the intersection again giving me the impression she sees me. Just when I am about right enfront of her, I realized she has never once looked in my direction, she instantly hits the gas and speeds trough the turn.
I lock my brakes up and go off the side of the road. I used all kinds of verbs and adjectives. She def heard me unless her name rhymes with Itch.
She slowed swerved wrecklessy into the other lane, before taking off again.

YIKES!! These days I pinion drivers with my icy glare while I pass. Most people aren't idiots, but enough of them are.

Good that nothing got broken on your bike. Now that the important stuff is out of the way....
