Addiction 2023.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Good socks = no toe jam = less weight.

I bought a 3-pack of Saucony wool socks last year and now I only have one pair. Pretty bad attrition rate there.
I have yet to lose a cycling sock, but that could be because I don't toss them in the dryer, but rather just hang them to dry with the rest of my kit. I kinda wish I could lose some of the older ones, but I guess they work for indoor cycling.

The most noticeable impact socks have ever had on my cycling is the pair of thick-ish wool socks on cooler days. They work a treat.

I can't imagine having anything but wool on my feet, any time of year.

Who's going to stop? The monster truck driver spewing a black cloud in my face?

My sole goal regarding human interaction while riding is to not get run over.

True for me when I lived in sock country. I no longer do, but still it's wool when I put any on.

And another great one!. Quite cool. So much so that I didn't work up a sweat, over 22 miles. A less serious cyclist would have stayed back for threat of rain. I wanted to take my rain jacket but couldn't find it, of course. Everything I touch lately disappears.

Grandmother popped positive at the rehab place for her cracked kneecap. Asymptomatic, but no one has any idea when she got it so whether she's fine or just getting started.

Also, she's down six pounds since arrival, and that's starting from under 100.

If it’s ever cold enough to where I need wool socks, I’ll probably be in the basement Zwifting away. If I am outside riding, I probably have my ski sock on and my long bibs.
