Addiction 2023.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Same here, but I rode the first two stages of Tour de Zwift. Maybe not a good idea. Finished one away from the Lantern Rouge yesterday. Not feeling great today.

Also, my first blue car:

but mine cost $90 and didn't look this good.

My high school girlfriend had a 4 door falcon, a green 63 with a smashed rear quarter. Good times.....

She married one of my buddy's , and destroyed his life. For quite a while afterwards too. Haven't seen him or her since. Lol. I can sure pick em.

Every body is local to somewhere. Joe Burrow grew up within 15 miles of my adult hometown.

Base layer ride today. We are unlikely to break 80 for the day. Happens a couple times per year

Houston Marathon. No more IMs for the foreseeable future; the work load is too high for it. This was a long, supported training run for the American River 50-miler in Folsom on April Fool's.

Speaking of running, I passed a guy on my local asphalt paved trail today running barefoot, in shorts, and a long sleeve t-shirt. A friend of mine is also a barefoot runner. Anyway, I cringed when I passed the guy today as the trail parallels a highway and is peppered with sand and pea gravel from the last snow storm.

The man (bear) who has a library card gave me grief for having a newspaper subscription. Interesting.

Hey, don't be so hard on yourself. Your legs aren't that short.

My legs are actually perfectly proportioned for my height or even slightly longer. My problem is that I'm 50# overweight which makes my leg look short.

Nothing for you. Library cards are a boomer thing, and we know how much the mouse likes to chide the boomers. Hypocrit, it seems.

Oddly enough, despite having a library card for my local library, I think I've only checked one book out over the last 5 years since I moved to this district. I'm an inveterate Kindle user and even though I know that I could "borrow e-books, I never have. I have hundreds of kindle books. Amazon loves me.

look at it this way, you could lose the 50 pounds but the bear will always be obtuse.

seriously, being fit but fat is a thing.

bampilot06 I let my Émonda out of the family room for the day. I checked my Colnago this morning and there was very little salt dust on it so I took my Trek out for a spin.

I got a library card 12 years ago when we moved down here but about 5 years ago it was disabled due to my inactivity and I've never renewed it. I mainly used it to check out CD'S. I use audible to listen to books occasionally.
