Addiction 2023.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Guess who came for dinner? Daughter #1, who warmed her weary dad’s heart:

After knee replacement #1 last Thursday, LSS is schlepping around and rehabbing pretty effectively and best of all, at least when she stands on it, she’s taller than I again!

I had my first ever brewed cup of decaf this afternoon. Immediately after a normal cup. The decaf had no flavor, that I could discern. I'll try some decaf instant. I prefer my afternoon coffee to be room temperature.

I poked my friend again about Indy. She told me not to worry.

I’m worried.

Hmm, I would have thought that meant a tacit "he's fine but doesn't want to be drawn into the forum again". Hrm.

Hopefully. I know I get that way if I stray from the confines of this thread too much. I should probably unsubscribe from a couple of threads I've chimed in on out of boredom recently.

Maybe I am too much of a pessimist. But I am still concerned.

Would be nice to have a true "oh yes he's fine, just stepped away". Oddly I'll stay optimistic for now.

I've been feeling conflicted about rooting for the Cowboys, but I just gotta in this case.

I checked out for a while due to the nature of the forum “personality.”

You can thank BAM for pulling me back into this thread. Or curse him, your choice.

I rarely read any other threads.

How much difference does a fake knee make on height?

If you don't trust her why did you even bother asking?

Indy update. Cut/paste from my friend. Indy’s first name is Dave:

So Dave is in a bad way. He is in Presbyterian hospital after requiring surgery for a heart valve infection. A friend who is a doctor may have an update later this week. It sounds bad though.

for all of us.

I love you all, even if I'm not always great at showing it. It blows my mind sometimes that I've been with AG almost a decade, and a whole lot of you have known me longer than that.
