Bianchi as Commuter?

I recently purchased a Trek Madone 5.2 SL and am very pleased with it. My former bike, a Bianchi XL Boron (steel) with 105/Ultegra mix, is still in great shape and I am thinking about using it as a commuter. I'm not going to put racks or anything on it, but would probably use it around town to run errands, lock it up, etc. The bike is classic celeste color and people that I ride with seem to think it's a pretty attractive bike. I don't really see myself riding the bike much anymore, but is it too nice to use as a commuter? I know this is a cheesy question and yes I am fortunate to have this dilema. Serious comments are appreciated. What do you think? Thanks in advance, Ron

Baby the Bianchi and use the Trek as a commuter.
Swap the parts of you want to baby the newer parts too.

I've commuted on all of my bikes at one point or another. When I've commuted on my stupid lite bikes, I use my spare wheels-not my stupid lite ones. Clip on fenders, quick realease lighting is handy.

Go for it... Heck, I commute on my Fuji Team SL outfitted with Campy Record/Chorus/Centaur and some nice handbuilt wheels.

I hope you don't lock that up in public and walk away... even with a serious lock.
