Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That temp is ideal for many activities, just a hair hot for cycling. But that oppressive humidity is just stupid.

Just started watching Citadel, no spoilers.

Accidental Peter Gerety double feature today, as I'd watched Working Man earlier.

Heard a good one just now. "Why don't we just cut to the liver"

Could just be a Britishism. Or maybe "Cut to the chase" is more for use in polite company?

I just realized liverwurst was mentioned in Working Man.

Cue twilight zone theme

Spent most of the day shopping. I was planning for going for a short overnight hike but after the shopping I can't be bothered. I'm knackered. I think it was the lack of drinking. On the plus side I did buy another bike. well more a BSO, from a recycling centre. At least the wheels go around and are truish, the tyres on it are worth more than I paid for the entire bike, it has a flip-flop hub, and the frame is not rusty. It is going to need a lot of CRC, oil and grease and work to be properly ridable however.

Less than 2 hours of sleep. Today should be fun. Was supposed to do a TT event. I’m thinking that is a no.

We have two kittens in the house. Rescued from the top of the stone wall, where the dogs had them cornered. They have an area of my wife's room, safe from said dogs. Getting the four of them to tolerate each other's presence is taking some time.

This morning I slept in til 3:30; then dawdled over my coffee, and didn't start yoga until almost 4. The one day this week that I didn't have to be out the door at five, for either a trip to the city or a bike ride. Luxurious. I have one smallish woodworking project on the slate. Putting up the second set of shutters, to keep the rain out. I might just find time to get some reading done.
