Addiction 2023.2

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Around here, traffic can vary so much over even a short span that a few minutes can make a big difference. When I rode before work, if I left before 7:30 I was fine, but even a minute or two later and I'd be battling Volvos and minivans all the way up the Alameda. Similarly, if I leave for work at 8:30, I can barely get out of my driveway, but by 8:35 it's all clear.

Why the f aren't people replying to my messages/voicemails today?

Obviously they're all on matters of great importance.

Storms coming. We need the rain. I think we got less than an inch of rain last month, looks like we are getting 2 inches this afternoon.

Same here, except we got quite a bit last week. It had been otherwise dry though.

Cycling content:

I was surprised I felt as good as I did. It was a rough weekend but if the weather is ok, I'll go again tomorrow.
Note the excellent highlighting skills.
