Addiction 2023.2

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

On a serious note, I hope she gets well soon. Nothing worse that feeling crappy and being sick for sucy a long time.

Surprisingly, I'm not getting blamed for any of it.

Thanks.

My shoes are out for delivery. UPS says "by 7pm". I am skeptical.

More people die riding bicycles than playing baseball.

I'd also like to see it adjusted for miles ridden and miles driven. Not that I like any deaths, or crashes.

It's difficult to say how many miles are ridden.

Maybe rjones28 can tell us how it's done. He's a numbers guy.

I got some trail runners with wacky built-in gaiters a few weeks ago. Now I wish all my shoes had those. Without 'em I get a lot of rocks in my shoes around here.

today’s “lunchtime” ride, despite being on one of my favorite routes, was just bad. 7 hours since I’d eaten, strong headwinds on the climb, too many meds on board, it was just work. slow work. interesting how on one of those days the average power just keeps dropping, and 200w feels like it takes as much effort as 275w normally. can’t decide if I need a break or to ride harder.

Scooters don't count as bicycles.
Correct
