Addiction 2023.2

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Doesnt seem to work with my left leg. It doesn’t affect my riding but I hate looking at it.

Varicose veins? I suggest darker panty hose.

You need to find someone who knows what they are doing and is trustworthy. A big ask? Yes, but they exist.

Or, maybe there is a different agenda here. BAM tells his wife the fuel pump is shot, and then goes to the parts store to find out a fuel pump will cost $1200 to replace. Then goes back home and tells the wife it's not worth spending that much to fix it and he needs a new car.

That has been an effective strategy for others.

That sucks. Bad vein valves, I would think, but datlas would know more.

It's actually been much better since, even without putting my leg extra high while watching TV last night. This morning, it was basically the same as the left leg - except for the skin where the cellulitis was, which is still somewhat discolored and slightly "leathery".

I am somewhat concerned about next week since I won't have a bike. I'm hoping that walking will have a similar effect.

I am going to have to sell a car soon to make room for the bikes. 11 bikes in the garage now. 9 are treks.
Only road bikes, or are you expanding to other terrain? My collections for both bikes and music gear tend to seek variety. Other folks tend to prefer variations of the same thing.

I hate fighting a headwind up Foothill, but I use it for Aero Hoods practice - so straight, so few stops, just get low and motor.

Thats what I think. I went to get it checked out a couple years ago and it was inconclusive. MRI and the whole 9 yards. Lately the swelling has been getting a little worse, but it might just be a flare up or something.

I keep telling Mrs. GeneJockey her car isn't worth it to upgrade or fix, but I realize she's owned it 1/3 of her life, so she's REALLY attached to it.

It would be another road bike. Currently 5 road bikes of my own. My daughter has 2 bikes, my wife has 2 bikes, and I have one mountain bike.

Reminds me of an episode of the Simpsons, where Smithers and Mr. Burns are at a tennis match, and Smithers comments on Mr. Burns big novelty foam finger. Burns says, "Oh, that? No, it's just fluid accumulation" and shakes it out."

My work schedule has prevented such things. Look at mileage. It has dropped of considerably, also has dropped off in intensity.
