Notices
Road Cycling ďIt is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.Ē -- Ernest Hemingway

Y'all should set up a show at Phoenix Deer Valley Airport. 400k movements and it's right down the road from my place.

Thank god the riding has begun, and the season is upon us. 2 Thursday rides already due to unseasonably warm days. What a blast. I'm torn on the new position since the retule fitting. It feels so weird. I am making good power with it so that helps. Hit 30 in a headwind final sprint last night. Was fun.

Thanks. My wife is fine now, as is the spawn. Iím the only one with any lingering symptoms and itís miserable not being able to walk down to the basement to switch laundry without a break. At least Iím 1000% better than I was on Monday when I was curled up in the fetal position in pain. Itís definitely clearing out of the system finally, but that was a brutal 5-6 days.

I think we got it at the marathon expo on Saturday. We only went there for bib pickup, but we walked all over town in crowds of runners and met friends. Then we went out to lunch and by Sunday I knew something was off.

I tried to move my cleats over to my new shoes and a simple, 14 screw swap that should take a few minutes took me 30 minutes and left me exhausted. I did manage to get on the bike for 20 low intensity minutes and am paying royally today for doing so. This sucks.
Hope y'all get all the way better soon. I've read about some recent strains being pretty bad.

I don't remember the airlines but my tandem was oversize and overweight and the fee from their website was $100 going to Spain but Ä100 on the return trip.

At this point I will accept a reasonable fee. I have put so much effort into this 312 so whatever it takes.

My friend says he has an old BMC 57cm at his place in Mallorca, so if all else fails I can ride that, but wacky new frame fit pretty stupid for a long ride. Fingers crossed I can bring my bike. A (different) friend who is a retired pilot tells me not to worry it’s typical to book an oversized bag at checkin and unusual for it to be a problem. My planning/OCD is still triggered, but I have accepted that stressing any more over this is foolish.

Maybe your hips are not rotated forwards, forcing your lower back to round.

Ask someone to take a photo of you from the side.

Was it when there was dollar/Euro parity?

#13, Van Nuys airport. I lived near it at a couple different houses. There was a restaurant bordering the runway and they had headphones in the booths so you could listen to the control tower. Really a cool place, WWWI themed. A locked door near the entrance where you could hear the squadron preparing for the days flights. Sure, it was a taped loop but it was long enough so you wouldn't hear it start over.

I liked it and I went there many times over the years. Closed last year after 50 years.

I was looking forward to a long ride on the Seven tomorrow but the noise from the freehub bearings has me back on the Gunnar. I found the old freehub body and tried to take the best 2 bearings and make it work but it still makes crunching noises. So, either those bearings were bad, too, or I damaged them with my barbaric handling of them, or the noise is from something else.

I tried to locate a new freehub at local shops but they all said no, special order only, or good luck. Found one on-line and it should be here next week.

After that fiasco I took the Gunnar out for a spin and I felt like a slug. frack

We are going to see the musical “Big Fish” at a local theater this evening. Daughter #1 is playing in the pit.

Ill do that, but unfortunatly prolly wonít be until next week.

Just measured the drop on the 4 treks again.

Madone (mojo wants). drop is 4.5 inches
Madone 2.0 (mojo doesnít want). drop is 5 inches
emonda drop is 4 inches
5200 drop is 6 inches
Ritchey too high up for me to reach, too lazy to get down
Reach on all of the treks is around 27.5 inches.

I never had the lower back pain on the 5200 and the drop is an inch lower than the madone 2.0.

The madone 2.0 does have wider bars than all of my other bikes but I wouldnít think that is related.
