Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Protip: You can never go wrong by saying, "This section needs more brass and less strings/woodwinds."

Fewer.

When I was a kid, there was a group called "101 Strings". I reckon they had 24 violins, violas, cellos, and bass viols. And a banjo.

My understanding is that Composer Jones does real music, not your '70s noise.

One more from the same 3 piece ensemble, because this is the one I was really thinking of.

our school district has the ‘Golden Strolling Strings’

when a stage will not accommodate the large number of strings - you stroll

the program typically has around 1600 kids in the orchestra program (grades 3 thru 12)

in addition to performing concerts at the schools in the district - they also perform at other venues including banquets, charity events, etc

.
