Addiction 2023.3

Notices
Road Cycling It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. -- Ernest Hemingway

a light rain is ideal for lawn work. Keeps the dust down

It really went from 70* and monsoons to 90*+ and humid AF. Very little time in the pool, on the bike, or running over the last ~3 weeks. Crap.

Now settled into our summer place (a.k.a. money barbecue). Leaking roof to be sorted tomorrow; leak in upstairs plumbing sorted today. After a few days of mist/periodic torrential rains the sun finally decided to show itself.

Good things: view over the Bay of Fundy beautiful as always, and the new (last year) board/batten siding on the barn has thankfully weathered and is starting to look 'old.' Another year should do it, then linseed will be applied (ugh).

After an awesomely cool spring we've only had a few days of 100 degree heat. It's in the 80s this week but it's going back over 100 next week. Let the suckage begin.

I'm trying not to break out the Bananarama youtubes. I think that might be datlas 's area of expertise anyways.

Shimano RS500 and the Fulcrum Racing 5 are in that range. Not especially light, but good quality. If you push the budget up to about $900 (less if you find a sale), you can get the Hed Ardennes RA Pro -- light weight and high quality.

Stuff, for the most part. A miscellany really ... assorted building materials, work bench, garden tools, that sort of thing. The original stalls (two horses) from the 1850s are still in place in the back, as are the loft floor and hay chute.
