Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yea, my new scale is here.
Booo.....it's telling me the truth. S.o.b! Contador is 16.2 lbs, ole Flat Black is 17.3 lbs. And the Blue bike 18.7 lbs. That's just depressing.... How much did it weigh before the rebuild? Guess I'm going to have to go on a diet

Yes, we're in a cute little (accent on LITTLE!) rowhouse built in 1875, near downtown. We aren't spending much time exploring outside the city, since Mrs. GJ likes the idea of walkability.

Took the mtb up the hill at the edge of the neighborhood. Couldn't get the old camera working so no new pics. Here is an old one. If it doesn't rain tomorrow I will not be ready to chase.

Red Tail hawks should be our state bird. I see way more of them than I do cardinals which IS our state bird.

I generally don’t. Like, eww. But following the 9-11 attack my sister got involved with collecting quilts from volunteers to distribute to affected families. Some of those quilts were nothing short of badass awesome. I tried to buy one but she wouldn’t allow it. Goodie two-shoes.

The critter population must be plentiful.

I've probably seen more bald eagles the last couple years than I have cardinals. As for critters of the hawks, we just have field mice and rabbits. The eagles are mostly fishing our rivers and ponds. It's not uncommon to see them sitting on light posts in parks that have fishing ponds for the kids and old men.

Edit: Come to think of it, we should make turkey buzzards are state bird. They outnumber the eagles and hawks and the aforementioned cardinals.

Recall I was struggling with removal of my freehub body? I tried again with new attitude and approach, and with a bit of leverage I got it out.

Building a dedicated track (cars or bikes) changes a big chunk of city into something is not. Permanently.

Crows and turkey vultures seem to dominate our skies.
