Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's accounting software. Nothing exciting about it. It's a very good tool, but not exciting.

Canopies and Coastlines race, 3rd / 12 starters

Short Version: Some dude was on a higher level and attacked early and solo'd away. Then I got beat in the sprint.

Longer Version: We were already down to 5 after Titan's grove section. Well, four plus Mr. beast mode Bazley. I thought I had more juice than the others in our group so I attacked on the first rise of the Southern Road. I dropped all but Rossi. Turns out Rossi was worth his salt AND he beat me in the sprint. Damn.

aftermath of my attack

coulda been a 2nd but hey I just got beat today

I used to love those things as a kid, and lamented that San Diego Lindbergh Field didn't have them

speaking of, we have more Santa Anas coming in next week.... bone dry humidity, high wind, hot temps. I freaking hate that weather pattern, esp for riding. I'd rather it be cool, mildly humid and damp.

Everyone wants to see the kids, wants to see them on their time, and nobody gets my job and somehow if I have a day off I am expected to do what other people want me to do on my days off. I kinda meant real wars but I can understand your situation, too. I always felt the holidays were a giant pita. Lucky for me Mrs John feels the same way, although this year I am elected to drive her to see some of her relatives. We usually avoid all that sort of thing, except Thanksgiving at my sister's, which is close and not a hassle at all.
My ex was big on the whole thing. Tree, presents, hours of driving, etc. I don't miss it.
