Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

On the subject of old cars in these parts, we have a neighbor (Canadian) who made trips to Matamoros, in the 90s, to pick up cars and drive them down to Yucatán. He said there weren’t many cars here in those days. VWs and Datsuns. In our 16 years here, I have seen many new marques come in

You should write a complete rule book. Fill that void.

None of my practice wife or her kids either. No need to keep reminders of that mess.

I found the pics, but my experience tells me I better show my current spouse's first. A much more modest affair we held in our lovely back yard.

Funny thing is this shot taken with a cellphone was the best capture of the day.

Those flower girls got me in some trouble.

The day of the wedding, they went and told my soon to be bride that I was flirting with some girls by the hotel pool. I was paid a visit by my soon to be MIL to check out what I had been doing earlier that day. The "girls by the pool" were my mom, my sister, and two cousins.

The current spouse is all that matters.

Saw those all over Ebay.

Still wondering whether I want the 54 or if the 36 is more suited to my riding (not strong, but not weak) style.

I have been told that iPhone cameras can rival the slr, for close range stuff. Personally, I wouldn’t know. I would be happy with a phone with no camera.

Not really. iPhone pictures are only good for digital viewing, and then only if you don't enlarge them too much. IMO

Modern event dress codes often need decoding. WTF is "smart casual"?

For most people, cell phones are "good enough."

Then you see the work of someone like Peter Lik. He uses cameras made by Phase one and others to create prints that are huge - 8' X 10' huge - and you feel like you are right in the middle of the scene. Ain't no cell phone in the world doing that.

Unless the bride and groom are stable old people. Attended one of those last fall. Just had to wear a nice suit and hang out with a pleasant crowd.

The "kids" were all at least 30.

No one mentioned that my wife is holding paper sacks. A barbecue was happening in the square and my brother stopped in the middle of traffic, essentially shutting down the square, and made everyone get out for barbecue and the pic. The police and traffic were very congenial about it.
BBQ is essential.
