Notices
Road Cycling ďIt is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.Ē -- Ernest Hemingway

I take folic acid six days a week. My blood tests are not normal. Not a miracle drug.

You might not live that long.

I voted in the last federal Canadian election. I witnessed no fist fights and felt no scrutiny as I deposited the envelop in the mailbox. #InternationalCitizen

Yep. I followed along in his blog. It wasn't easy, that's for sure.

He showed up to a crit in Longmont, and raced in a t-shirt and no-name bibs. He didn't win, but he sure had a blast.

Not directly. The parties choose their leader. I didn't even get a proper ballot. Just a box to write in a party, since the international ballots were done before the candidates were finalized.

Unless you're not getting enough folic acid.

I may be getting enough for a normal person, but the MTX depletes it.

Twice Iíve encountered racers far back in the pack in the Pioneer Mountains area of MT. I got tired just looking at them and thinking that they havenít even gotten to the most difficult parts yet. The climb over the Pioneers from Wise River is around 24 miles, but it only tops out at just under 8,000í, and the USFS paved it around the year 2098. Thatís nothing compared to what they face in CO.

In 2016, several of them stumbled into the Wise River Club while I was having lunch. They were wet and dirty from a thunderstorm that had passed through the area. (I got caught in rain, sleet and snow coming down from the summit.). One guy ordered a giant milkshake to go with his meal.

Right, so let me amend my original comment to "Unless lack of folic acid was what was causing your problem".

Baby woke up at 2:30 this morning and was like super wakey-wakey. Not the usual sort of diaper change, maybe a quick feed and back to sleep - no, this baby wanted to play. Damnit.

Was sort of on the fence about going hard today since Friday and Saturday were hard ride days. After sleeping in a bit more than normal I chose to ride EZ

Well, here's some good news! My crown race removal tool, which was wending its way to Connecticut as of Saturday, is on its way to San Mateo:

Tracking now says
Moving Through Network
Arrived at USPS Regional Facility
SAN FRANCISCO CA NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTER
June 3, 2024, 11:45 am

With any luck I should have it tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

also very happy to see Lachlan Morton win unbound. Crazy to say but he almost feels like an underdog given the caliber of current, winning WT riders that are entering these events (e.g. Mohoric).

Mohoric had to drop out with flats and a broken wheel.

Totally agree. I also give huge kudos to EF Easy Post for indulging in his escapades. I think he gives them a huge social media presence and I'm glad they are part of his fun.
