Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

E-mailing bikesdirect

Anyone ever emailed bikesdirect and got a response? I emailed today and my message was bounced. Was wondering if this is normal or just a temporary server problem. Would be a shame because I had a simple question, and very close to pulling the trigger on the Le Champion SL.

If you are having trouble, I would try emailing one of their affiliates that sell their bikes on Ebay; like SPRTYMAMA or bikesdirectbikes. I bought my bike (2005 Mercier Corvus AL) from SPRTYMAMA; and asked her tons of questions about my bike before my purchase, and she promptly emailed me back every time, talked with her prolly a handfull of times before and after my purchase, she was really helpful, this is really a run on sentence.

i ordered my bike from them late monday night and quickly got the email confirmation of the order....

i replied to the email - sales@bikesdirect.com - first thing tuesday morning with a question and have not heard back....

your bounce back should have some clue as to why the mail did not get there. but i never got a bounce back. could be a thousand reasons to explain this, and most of them are beyond anyone's control, but would be nice to know someone is there other than the computer that processes your credit card payment...

I bought a bike from them in 1998 and at that point my email questions were promptly answered. Not that 7 years ago has anything to do with today other than to demonstrate they've been in business a long time which usually indicates some level of reliability. And Ostuni, I love your new signature!

I've emailed them quite a few times and each time, except one, I got a quick response. Don't know if this has anything to do with it, but the one non-response was a question regarding what would happen should warranty issues arise in the future.

Well, it was just a temporary server problem it seems. I got a reply this morning. As I was afraid, sounds like they are very close to selling out the Le Champion SL's. Time to sell some stuff quick so I can afford to order one!

I sent a pre-sales question to sales@bikesdirect.com and received no response (this was 3 weeks ago). I guess they don't want my money.

I just ordered a 56cm SL this am and got confimation that the order was accepted.

Sorry that you didn't get one, I'm sure they will put it on sale again next month. It seems they did black last month and now they have silver. Who knows they might go back to black.
