Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Good deal? or not.

What do you think something like this is worth?

https://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

I think it is pretty sexy, but might be some sort of scam that someone else can point out better than I can... It seems like the front tire is bent a bit, what do you guys think?

Front tire is flat. It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. Seems like a steal at the current bid (if I was shopping for a bike like it and had the cash, I'd be willing to go up to about $400 for it). Unfortunately, it has those dorky STI shifters

Don't listen to Zorro (or anyone else ) about their anti-Shimano components (STI) bias. STI shifters were developed by Shimano to make shifting gears more efficient and have been around about 15 years and going. Some folks just prefer their bikes to be "pure" Italian

The Brava is a decent bike and if you can get it for less than $400, it's a good deal. It'll probably weigh 22-23 lbs.

Guess you read me a bit wrong. I have nothing against Shimano I really like the funky-toothed freewheel that's on my old Fuji - I'm just a retro-grouch through and through. Give me friction shifters (SunTour preferred), non-aero brakes and a fine steel steed, and I'll be happy. I'll never have to worry about indexing problems or having to throw everything out if a small part wears out.
