Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cinelli Aero Bars -Compatibility??

Has anyone ever seen, or does anyone own these Cinelli aerobars? I bought them a while ago, but they will not attach to my handlebars. The diameter of the bars is too thick, and the clamps aren't adjustable. There's no specification in the description as to the size of handlebar they fit so (silly me!) I thought they'd be adjustable.

Bottom line question - does anyone know if this is a case where the aerobars are only compatible with Cinelli handlebars? Any recommendations on what I can do, other than buying other handlebars of a different diameter, to get them to fit?

Are you using 31.8mm handlebars, or the standard 26.0mm bars? If they're 31.8, I would expect these not to fit, but if they are 26.0 then they should work.... What is the brand and name of the handlebar you are using?

No problem. There are a couple of "aero bars" out there that are made for 31.8 bars, but I'm not sure if they are the true aero bars or the "shortened", "sprint" version like the ones you posted above.
