Hey, we have Dish Network satellite TV. We can watch anything here. Just the other night, the missus was going through the channels, and saw cricket on PPV. Most shows are $1.99-5.99. She clicked on it, and it was only one hundred and sixty nine bludy American dollars! So, I'm thinking cricket's not so popular over here.

Jamo did a 4'30" when his pb was 4'22".

In defense, a flu swept through the track cyclists camp after nationals.

Still, disappointing ride by Jamo and Dawson. Well outside their pbs. Maybe all the road work is not helping them.

Just spoke with tan. She's in good spirits (as well as one can be under the circumstances). She's due to be wheeled out for surgery in about 30mins. Leg in brace, Panadol Forte in the bloodstream (apparently doesn't too hurt much with the brace on WTF???!!?), and an iron will at the ready.

HDTVKSS 03-16-06 06:52 PM

good to see shes doing OK. fast little decent that one, not that id like to be hit by a 4x4 at high or low speed.

classic1 03-16-06 09:39 PM

HDTVKSS 03-16-06 10:31 PM

when is the MTB on? is anyone able to record it and lend me a copy seeing as i dont really have access to record it?

Thylacine 03-16-06 11:31 PM

It's on Thursday I think. I'm still trying to figure out how it's free, yet 'sold out'.

We ride Lysterfield all the time. Trying to figure out a way to sneak in without accidentally winding up on the Comm Games track at an inopportune time and then finding ourselves inadvertantly with medals around our necks.

mrkott3r 03-17-06 03:07 AM

hey guys do you reckon this is a good frame? If yes how much should I go up to? I know its a general question but, I know about jack with bikes
link ebay item

jock 03-17-06 04:14 AM

The frame is an entry level track frame, and would be good Ebay value up to about $250.

It is waaaay to small for you, unless you were planning on using it as a BMX bike :D

jock 03-17-06 04:24 AM

Who the hell is Sean Finning? Sounds like a bloody Scotsman or Irishman

berny 03-17-06 04:28 AM

Good on cn9 missing most of the mens points race. Telecast began when the thing was over. :( But you'll never see only the last 5m of a swim freek'n race.

What was the story with Kirsten's DSQ?

jock 03-17-06 04:38 AM

entered the sprinters lane. nearly had a collision of elbows with RB. nothing in it, but big C's obviously like a very technically correct race at the expense of an entertaining race

I thought classic1 put Toma in St Vincents hospital with a ruptured lower intestine with the reaming he gave him :D

He's the wild colonial boy - he was born in Castlemaine

thunder 03-17-06 10:17 PM

yep good allrounder, won the Aus titles madison with Simon Clarke a fortnight ago. Good points rider, good teams pursuiter, good madison rider. Probably best comparison would be O'Grady. Don't know how his engine is on the road though, though that is where he wants to go, and don't know what his bunch kick is like on the road, but going from the points result he must be ok.

How did he go against Henderson when they went head to head in any of the sprints. IF he can beat Henderson at 21 he will be damn good. Potentially a good bunch sprinter.

Given that I know zip about track cycling, can someone explain the relevance of this? Why wasn't he allowed to enter the sprinter's lane?

thanks,
Nada

jock 03-18-06 01:51 AM

Before we start, I just saw the news and the relegation was because he chopped down on Kelly (yeah, his own teammate!) in the back straight on the last lap and actually hit his front wheel. Kelly is, to put it mildly, a tad peeved as he would have medalled for sure.

Anyway, back to the sprinters lane thingy. Once the sprint starts the lead rider will usually occupy the sprinters lane because it's the shortest distance around the track. The sprint start is as ajudged by the commissaires, could be any time in the race. Clear as mud? Cool. Once the sprint starts riders trying to come around the outside of anyone who is already in the sprint lane are not allowed to interfere with the riders in the sprint lane, and that, means you have to stay outside the line. Technically I think the rule states a gap of at least 2 bike lengths before you can drop into the sprinters lane after passing, but in most races I've seen the big C's let you get away with as little as 1/2 bike length.
