ANYWAY, stuff all that rubbish.........

who reckons training on Cosmic Carbones on Beach Road is a toss?

Most Sundays, I see this peanut/hack, with no legs and a C50 with Cosmics, and he tries to torch me be sprinting up the road 50m, then puffing his guts out, dropping back, then trying again!! :p After doing this 3 times he turns off.

I bascially just want you all to say, "yeah, you're right, Nev -- he's a bonehead, and you're grouse" :p

April 1st is the next rr @ Strathewen (near Hurstbridge)
You gonna have a crack? Aren't you in A?

Thylacine 03-20-06 01:24 AM

Evidence you're a tosser -

1) You ride Beach rd.
2) You have a Colnago.
3) You have Cosmic Carbones as your training wheels.
4) You attempt to outgun Nev on the rollers just before Mordy.

Odin 03-20-06 01:44 AM

I saw two blokes on matching C50's at Amy's Ride. Matching bikes, helmets, knicks, jerseys, gloves... the whole bit. Made a nice couple ;)

Everyone know that if the bloke was fair dinkum he'd have the Campag Boras

Thylacine 03-20-06 02:31 AM

Yeah, like a vegan would be caught dead on an overpriced carbon bike. We all know they'd be riding an op-shop Malvern Star....kinda like Nev. :p

Was it windy? Where were the Zipp discs?Jeez, the cost of living in Mexico must be making them feel the pinch. Better move to Australias favourite capital!

Are you sure they weren't Erik Dekker and Michel Boogard sneaking in some training?

I bet they were middle age poseurs with too much disposable income. More likely to be secret followers of Atkins but will eat vegetarian sushi in public :p

The four day tour I just did was heavily populated by guys (my age) on C50s, Kuotas, Serottas, Madones, CR1s rolling on Cosmics, Zipps and the fancy new red and carbon hubbed Ksyriums. I passed quite a lot of them on my 4 year old GT with Ultegra and A-Class wheelset ;)

don't forget my op-shop wheels!! Am i the only guy still using Ultegra hubs, stainless steel DTs, 'normal' rims and more than 10 spokes per wheel??? Crikey!! :) Not only am I the last guy on Beach Rd riding steel, I'm also the last guy with aluminium!!! Beach Rd should be changed to "Module Blvd"

i just pretended I was a pro by riding right along side the temporary barriers on Beach Rd.. :D

mrkott3r 03-20-06 03:45 AM

Hey turn on ABC right now, its pretty messed up **** on right now

matagi 03-20-06 04:19 AM

You mean the Four Corners thing about "ice" ? Yep, drug addiction is a hard one to understand - if we knew the reasons why some people become addicted, it would be much easier to deal with the problem.

Hmmm. Is that the same bag you used to carry home that 15kg voltage convertor? :D

which is still sitting in the shed. I'll wait until the next get whizz bang tech comes out, that isnt in Aus and buy it overseas. So at least the voltage convertor will see some work.

Sadly there's more than 3. I've seen 5 of them all together in the full kit, and the Bianchis are the top shelf jobbies too. Waynk factor - large.

PS: any of you Melbourne crew heading down to have a look at the TT today?

I'm sure Ed and Ozman will be fighting each other for position to cheer on their hero Kathy Watt :D

Thylacine 03-20-06 05:03 PM

I don't think I could manage to watch a TT. I manage to squeek out a 47kmh average for about a kay, and these guys average more than that for 40. Might be too depressing to watch!

Can someone explain what it is with this Beach Rd thing?

Is this the Melbourne cyclist equivalent of cruising around sitting three abreast in the front seat of a hotted up FJ Holden with twin overhead foxtails and chrome-plated grease nipples?
