Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Online Coaching Programs

So . . . here's a question about online coaching programs. I was looking around online this week, and I found a link to Chris Carmichael (Lance's coach) and his training business, Carmichael Training Systems (CTS). They have various packages, each of which involves various levels of assistance in establishing a regular training schedule and modifying training programs to meet individual needs, etc. The cheapest package is about 40 USD a month; the most appealing one is about 100 USD. The 100 is a bit out of my price range; I'm wondering if anyone is using the CTS service, or if there is something similar that someone might recommend to me. I'm not a novice when it comes to training, but I'm a classic winter slacker -- I want something to motivate me and keep me consistent through another Chicago winter so that I can have a strong spring racing season in 2006.

Thanks,
D.

I'm curious too. What could they do for a schmuck like me on the trainer in winter that Spinervals <shudder> can't?
