Getting Bianchis in the US — Testing and Sizing?

Hello!

I am finally graduating from my vintage steel frame Schwinn beater, and am in the market for an entry level newer bike (looking to spend 800-1600)

I am generally biased towards a Bianchi Via Nirone, and have been around a few shops in Central Virginia (where I am currently based), but having a hard time finding Bianchis to even try out. So wondering if yall have any thoughts about where to find bianchis in the US? (I’ve only seen 1-2 on ebay, and close to none on Craigslist)

I’ve tested out some Giants and Trek Domanes, and while the Domanes seem good, I am still just biased toward Bianchis since I got another Bianchi beater stolen from me when I was living in NYC.

After testing riding the Treks, I do have a concern about just finding a Bianchi online and gettting it delivered. Id love to test it since the Treks, while a great ride, they generally did feel a little crammed on me (5’11” rode both 54 and 56). Is it a sizing issues and just try to get a Via Nirone 57? Any recs to try and test/find the right size, before spending my first 1K+ on a bike?

Thank you!!!

Test ride any bike locally and then look up the stack and reach numbers on a site that shows bike geometries. Just match up the Bianchi's numbers with the numbers for the bike you test rode. Should be pretty close. Here are two bike geometry sites:

https://geometrygeeks.bike

https://bikeinsights.com

And for comparison purposes, I'm 5'9" and can ride a Bianchi in either a 53 or 55. You'd probably be a 57 but compare the numbers first.... Good luck.

Good advice. The stack (how upright or low you want to be) will be the deciding factor between the 55 and 57, it's almost 2 cm, the reach is like 4 mm difference. I'm a fan of the VN, and not just cause we are a Bianchi dealer.
