Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ready?

I just completed a 32 mile tour in 1 hour and 45 minutes. That was with 2 stops and a bent handle bars for the last 5 miles. (too fast over a park enterance.) The couse had about 5 miles of hill climbs. None of the hills were very difficult. Would you say I am in shape for a race?

That's about where I am. I'm trying to shave another 5 minutes or so on the theory that races have a lot more anaerobic acceleration, so I need to have my legs in good form before racing.

On the other hand, what's the worst that could happen? If you've got a convenient forum, WTF.

What type of race? Crits, TT's, or road races. Different mileages with different terrain. What does your average break down to on computer?
