The first "good" road bike I bought in 2006 came stock with a fizik Aliante saddle, and it was so comfortable that I've just continued to buy that model for every other bike I've acquired since

...with two exceptions:
- The gravel bike I owned from 2018-2023 came stock with a Fabric Scoop Radius Sport saddle, and that seemed so similar to the Aliante that I never bothered changing it.
- The original 2006 Aliante on that first "good" road bike eventually broke, and while I was waiting for a replacement Aliante to arrive I put some generic Cannondale-branded saddle on that bike...which wound up being comfortable enough that I just left it on the bike, and keep the replacement Aliante as a spare in case any of my other Aliantes in use break.

Personally, I've never had any issues with any saddle. There are some I like better than others, but, once adjusted, I've been able to ride any saddle in comfort.

I tend to wear out the sides of saddles (thick thighs), so I prefer leather saddles since they don't suffer from that type of wear. But otherwise - I've ridden road bikes since at least 1990, and I've been on probably a dozen-ish saddles - leather, synthetic, with and without cut-outs, etc. - and all have worked fine.

I also seem to be pretty tolerant of saddles. I fit fine on Brooks professionals, Idéales 90, 80, and 39, and Terry Butterfly models. I don't however fit the Brooks B and C 17. They are a bit too wide for me on drop bar bikes.

A B-17 came on my bike and I'm still riding it 3 years later, there is no perfect saddle out there, there may be a perfect saddle for you but it want be for the next guy it's something you have to sort our for yourself IMO.

Appreciate the responses. Like everyone, have a nice pile of saddles I've discarded. And yes, it's completely subjective to each of us.

I gave up on the Stratos. For something different, I decided to try a Terry TI, as that brand works for my wife. The TI was a bit more forgiving in spots but after a three hour ride yesterday, I was suffering, despite my adjusting a couple of times. May swap out for the Century model. In the meantime, back to the Drakon.
