Bike sizing help please
It has been 20 years since I bought a new road bike and could use a few suggestions about sizing. I went to a shop in my city and looked at Lemond Reno (on sale at $729.) and really liked it. It was a size 57, but seemed slightly small for me: I am 6-2, 215, about a 32 1/2" inseam (home plate to floor..barefoot) with long torso and arms at 36" shirt sleeve length, if this matters. The standover is listed at 785 for the 57 of which the sales rep said due to sloping tube it would work. They did not have a 59 size to try and the rep said much adjustment could be made with stem length and seat height (of which I am aware). It rode like a dream, light and fast, but smaller than my old bike. The shop did not have anything to compare at 58-59. Keep shopping for a larger size? Try to fit this 57? Looking forward to more riding and less work!
Thanks for the help! James

I am about 5'11" and my bro-in-law is 6' and we both ride a Lemond 57. I would try a 59 just to be sure. At that height, though, and with that short of an inseam (32.5) you might indeed be comfy on a 57. You must have a long torso - which on the Lemond works well because their top tubes are a bit longer. I would try a 59 since you have not been a biker for a while and are not sure about size and what feels "right".
