Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My Lame, Sort Of, Biking Accident

So, I was down at Performance this afternoon and they had a cheap pair of tires for $5 each and the old Nishiki was in need, so I figure it's a good deal and I buy a pair. Get home, mount them on my wheels and start pumping on my two month old Topeak Joe Blow Sport pump, wham, the handle snaps off the piston on the downstoke and now I have a 12 inch scrape running up my forearm. Luckily its just a superficial scratch but that's the first time anything like that has ever hapened to me. Has anyone else ever had there floor pump break like that? I'm sure it may be common if you've had it a while but this one is only two months old and I don't use it all that much.
