About 12yrs ago ...
145 to 150 lbs
5'7"
29" inseam
54cm bike frame
I now weight 165 to 170lbs ... (down from a 210 high a couple years ago). BMI says I need to weight around 155lbs, but realistically a weight of 160 to 165 seems about right for me.

I'm 5'8" and 158 but probably wouldn't go under 150. I need to keep some muscle in my upper body to do all the other activities I'm into. Plus I like to eat

I'm 5'8" and would like to get down to 145-150. I'm a little below 160 now, down from 170+.
I just started riding a road bike this summer and it's helped me, along with a few sensible but modest changes in my diet, to lose the weight, have more energy, and look better in my clothes. If anything, a long bike ride curbs my appetite and it definitely keeps me off the sofa.

I'm 5 foot, 7 & 3/4" - currently 41.5 yrs old and weigh about 215.
was between 140 and 160 in my early-mid 20s, mostly lsd running....some weights. I was all hamstrings back then. I am stronger (and fatter) on top now, also better quads & calves from riding.
I'd say at my age I'd be happy to get to 170, and thrilled to hit 160 again.
150 is possible with a LOT of effort, but not sure how realistic that is with a full time job, stress, etc.

For me I performed the best when I was 5' 6" and 130lb. I'm taller now(5' 8") and weigh quite a bit more at 156lb. So I suppose my ideal riding weight would be around 140lb?
I noticed I ride a bit faster on the flats and downhill sections due to the extra muscle but on climbing parts is where it really is evident that the added weight is hurting me. But I'm not going to try and lose anything since I need the muscle for wrestling. Different sports different physiques.

Another thing about me is that my frame I dont think is meant to be ultra climber 145 LBS. I do think I can get to 155 though. Also I am on a 55 frame, dont know my inseam though. I have noticed that I have become much mroe skinny than I used to be. If I honestly commit to doing sit ups and push ups every day id have a good looking upper body, but I dont...

I'm 5'11". I love to get around 160-165, but I tend to hang right around 180.

I'm just under 6'3", have a medium-large frame, and I'm at 196 down from 218 in Janurary this year, and I don't think I've hit my 'ideal' cycling weight yet. I'd speculate that it's in the 180s (I have Hincapie in my head), but I'm going to stay in the low 190s (when I get there), for appearance and also 'cause I play hockey, and I need the bulk

5'11" 140-143lbs on a frame constructed of toothpicks and rubberbands wrapped in a little muscle. I think I need to add a couple pounds to be more efficient on the bike, but best for running.

At 6'4", my weight is 195, down from 205 in winter. Any lower, and I get advised by the sports physio guy I'm too thin. I've also ridden through the year such that % body fat remained constant, but weight went up due to getting bigger legs. Muscle is heavy. Weight is not always about body fat.

For those of you who dropped 10-20 lbs, did you immediately notice a big difference in your performance? Sounds like from a few responses that most immediate gain is on the climbs. How about the flats?

I'd love to be 5'9 @ 210 pounds. I'm 230 as of this morning. I'm around 190 pounds LBM, so 11% BF wouldn't be bad.

I little bit over 6'6", large (really large) frame, ideal cycling weight 190, realistically, 200.
BTW my dad who is my size was 195 at my age, he is 6'4"...

5' 10.5" @ 155# on a med-small frame. I'm @ 150# now and feel less than optimal. I've always struggled to gain wieght, specifically muscle mass.

Everyone must be just fighting for your wheel on the bell laps.
You must be d@mn strong on the flats to hold off the other sprinters at the line.

5'5" and weight fluctuates between 133 and 138. Would love to be consistently under 130 for cycling and running the hills, but that's going to take some work now that I'm almost 40, and I feel like my metabolism has slowed down along with decreased time I have to work out (two young kids). I also don't like feeling hungry.
