This one's practically in my backyard, folks - I'm there! Sure would be cool to see my BF friends there, too...

OK, should I stick to the 50 miler or go all out and try for the metric century? Which will offer me more BF companionship along the way?

If you're going to ride with me, you gotta go all the way It will be at a nice, leisurely pace as we all enjoy each other's company. Seriously, though, do what you think you can.

Bibi and I toured a Canadian winery outside Montreal once. While we were politely sipping the samples, about 40 nuns burst into the room and, quite literally, bellied up to the bar. Guzzling was pretty much the order (nuns, order, get it?) of the day.

It's tempting but I'd have to get somebody to take SnowDog for the weekend. I think they may have drugged her at the pet lodge last weekend when I went to the seacoast century.

and there I was out of conditioning again. But I got 15 miles on Saturday and 25 on Sunday so things
are looking up, even if it gets too dark after work nowadays for evening rides.

Ok, here's the short list...and please let me know who I've missed, 'k?
Bibi and the Spongedad
Mirona Mike
Juggler Dave
Kloden....errrr.....Dex
Kirke
Glade (wants to meet up with this crowd - cool, huh?)
Breakaway Paul/Cydewaze & Jess (maybe, maybe....)
Me
Things to remember: hide all shaving utensils, and no alcohol for Dex. Or JugglerDave, he's had enough.
Got out for the first truly cool weather ride this evening - upper 50's, 10-15 mph breeze (why is it NEVER a tailwind????) - and I'm thinking ahead a couple of weeks...while I'll not be wearing any sort of parka, Bibi - fleece arm and leg warmers will most definitely be important! Dang, it felt great to be out there in the chill!

I haven't read this entire thread, but if you are concerned about your wife being able to do the 33 hilly ride, let me add about my experience. The first year I did this ride there were no flat routes and I didn't own a road bike, so I did the 33 mile route on my mountain bike. I was with a large group of friends who were of varying levels of fitness and some were on mountain bikes and some were on hybrids. One of the girls in my group couldn't finish the ride, but I think she was having a mechanical problem with her bike. Everyone else finished, even though the hills weren't easy. There is a rest stop about 20 miles in. In the years before the flat routes, the families and casual riders did the 33 mile route. I frequently saw riders stopped along the side of the road, resting, and others walking their bikes up the steeper hills. I've only ever done the 33 mile route, and even after the flat routes were added there are still many riders on this route that don't have road bikes and don't seem like avid cyclists.
Hope this helps.
I plan to do the 50 mile route this year, since I significantly increased my average ride distance this year, and think I can finally handle 50 miles in the hills. Talk to me after the ride and see if I was overestimating my abilities or not.
